New Trent Easypak 7000mAh Portable Triple Deals

By Gaucho Girl (Los Angeles) -
This review is from: New Trent Easypak 7000mAh Portable Triple USB Port External Battery Charger/Power Pack for Smartphones, Tablets and more (w/built-in USB cable) (Electronics)
I spent a lot of time researching different battery backups, and I've owned several, so I know the pros and cons of these things and this one is the best value and has the best features. First of all, it has a ton of power and is quick to charge. But probably the best features are the ones you don't think about. It can be charged with your computer instead of a wall outlet, in case you're low on plug adapters/converters (or just wall outlets!) It can also be charged with your iphone a/c adapter, so you only have to travel with one of those. It comes with adapters for other devices besides the iphone, so it can charge all your gadgets. It has lights on it that tell you how much power is left, which is helpful. The versatility of this device is what makes it uniquely superior to others on the market. A lot of thought went into the design of this product, and you won't be disappointed!

EDIT (10/14/2011): When reading this review, please note that when I got this product, it was called ACD66 and its capacity was rated at 6600 mAh. Since then, this product's name has been changed to IMP70D and its capacity re-rated at 7000 mAh.

EDIT (10/22/2011): I tested the 2.1A output on an iPad 2, and the IMP70D is indeed able to charge an iPad. The iPad was charged from 42% capacity to 69% in 90 minutes while being lightly used.

Original review:
I own both the IMP50D and this update to the IMP50D, the ACD66. Overall, the ACD66 is a very solid portable charging solution for electronic devices that can be charged from a USB port. Its 6600 mAh capacity and two USB charging ports (1.0 A and 2.1 A) can charge multiple devices multiple times over multiple days before needing to be recharged. If you need a lightweight portable charging solution, you will be satisfied with either one of these devices. I list a few difference between the two below, and if you are thinking about getting the IMP50D, take a look at my review of it for a few things you should take into account when using it. If you are not satisfied with whatever you get or if you think something is wrong with it, contact their customer support--they are VERY responsive and helpful.

I bought the IMP70D battery pack right before a long trip after quite a bit of research and after a brief experience with a friend's IMP99D, which saved the day. I chose the IMP70D because of its flatter and cleaner form factor despite the slightly lower battery capacity. It does exactly as promised, reliably charging all manner of devices from iPhones to iPads (simultaneously) and of course non-Apple products as well. Included in the package is a relatively short pigtail cord with standard USB on one end and mini/micro USB adapters on the other. Be aware that a wall transformer is not included in the package -- your existing Apple mini-cube transformer or other USB power source will do the trick. One feature this newer model has that the older ones apparently do not have is a smart sensing (power saving) capability which turns off the battery pack once your device is fully charged. Interestingly, the IMP70D does not get hot when charging (or discharging), likely a sign of good power and thermal regulation, which should lead to a longer service life. Some of the previous generation battery packs had cooling vents but this one appears to not need them. Overall a solid product that will keep you mobile.

LG Spectrum VS920 (Verizon) Smartphone Deals

By Al Mankowski "Al" (North Carolina) -
This review is from: LG Spectrum VS920 (Verizon) Smartphone - No Contract. (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I bought this phone to replace my wife's Verizon contract phone which died one month after expiration of the warranty, which is eleven months before the end of the contract period. The price through Amazon was half of what Verizon wanted to replace the phone. Overall, the Spectrum is a nice smartphone. The size is a good balance of good viewing vs compactness. The display is crisp and I have not had any problems running any Android apps. The only issues that I have with the phone is sometimes the menu is a little obtuse and the premature demise of the Spectrum phone which prompted this purchase. However, the predecessor phone was not truly dead; it just had "issues". And my Spectrum, purchased at the same time as my wife's Spectrum contract phone is still running.

Why the LG Spectrum?
- Well, for the price there really isn't much better of a phone in my opinion. I've gone through probably 15 in the past two years because I'm irresponsible, however, after trying others, this is the one I always come back to. It's 4G, snappy interface, takes a very good quality picture, and can use almost all current apps on Google Play.

Pros:
- 4G - For the price of this phone, 4G is worth it all by itself.
- Camera - Love it! Takes better pictures than my girlfriends iPhone, especially in low light
- Interface - I think it comes with Jelly Bean, I think. Don't quote me on the but the interface itself is still great. One thing I LOVE which I think goes unnoticed a lot is how easy it is to delete apps. My older Droid Incredible require me to go into settings, manage apps, etc. This phone however allows me to delete them right from the app selection menu.
- Screen - It's big and beautiful. Looks great whether in the brightest sun or darkest room.
- Durable - My phones hit the ground a lot, and this one has never seemed to care. Literally, the worst I've done to this thing is make little micro scratches that show up on pretty much all devices after regular use.

Cons:
- Battery life - If you're getting this phone, get an extended battery. It will last about 3-4 hours if you don't and is very annoying. However, with the extended battery it will last all day. Yes, this will make it bulkier, but the phones already big so oh well.
- Size - While the screen is beautiful, the phone itself is just to big. When using one hand it's hard to function due to the large screen size. My short little fingers don't fit all the way across the screen :(

CONCLUSION:
- If you're looking for a cheap 4G Verizon cell phone than the LG Spectrum is the one for you. While it is large in size, the bigger screen makes watching videos ten times better. Also, the camera, interface, and durability are outstanding.

Do not order this phone if u don't want a contract. If u call Verizon Wireless they will advise u that none of their 4G phones can be activated without a contact. Ordered and had to send it back but got a refund minus 15%.

Ive has the phone for 1 year and my twin does to. We can honestly tell you that its not worth the money! The phone freezes, short battery life certain charges will cause the screen to go blue. It has great storage buy I would not recommend this phone to anyone.

Bought it because it was cheap, I have encountered nothing but problems upon using this phone. The keyboard crashes multiple times a day and it just freezes constantly. I literally can't even use it and am frantically scrambling to buy another phone on the cheap because I can't deal with too much more of this. By far the worst piece of technology I have ever owned. The battery life is miserable so I bought the extended battery which is massive. Sometimes it calls random people and then when I touch the screen to hit "end" it turns the screen off. If I remove my finger the screen then turns back on. The only way to remedy this is to take out the battery, restart the phone, and apologize to the person I accidentally called. Avoid at all costs, I can't even believe that this thing costs money it is so unbelievably awful.

LG T375-BLK Cookie Smart Dual Sim Deals

By Jeffrey A "Jeff" (FL) -
This review is from: LG T375-BLK Cookie Smart Dual Sim Unlocked Phone with 3.2-Inch Touchscreen and 240 x 380 Pixels Screen Resolution - No Warranty - Black (Wireless Phone Accessory)
The LG T375 is a dual SIM phone with a 3.2-inch capacitive LCD color display, 2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio and multimedia player.

This phone has an easy to grip style - with rounded edges and measuring 4.06 x 2.32 inches and just 0.42 inches thick, it fits perfectly in my hand.

WHY BUY A DUAL SIM PHONE?

You can operate two phone numbers on one handset - from the same service provider or different service providers.
By putting both SIM cards in the LG T375 handset, it's like having two phones in one. (REMEMBER: Both your SIM cards can be on the same network/service provider or on two different networks)

The LG T375 allows me to switch networks flawlessly without having to switch my SIM card - and with two different numbers it's easy to keep work and personal calls separated ON ONE HANDSET!

PROS:

The LG T375 has 50 MB internal storage and a micro SD card slot (up to 16 GB)

Capacitive multitouch screen is very responsive

128 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM is more than adequate for basic phone functions

The phones offer GSM/EDGE connectivity along with Wi-Fi. You also get Facebook and Twitter integration (I haven't used these social media features though)

According to the Users' Manual, the standard 950mAh Li-Ion battery allows up to 528 hours of Stand-by and up to 14 h 40 min of Stand by time. With normal use, I usually charge my phone every 3 days.

Like most phones, you need the headphones Stereo to operate the FM radio but the LG T375 allows FM recording. I use this feature to make personalized ringtones :))

Pairing devices using the LG T375 Bluetooth is easy. So far I have used the Bluetooth to pair the LG T375 with a Sony VAIO E15 Laptop, a Motorola T325 Bluetooth Portable Car Speaker and a Samsung C3222 Ch@t Dual SIM Phone

CONS:

The LG T375 is a budget phone so, the processor is understandably slow.

The LG T375 connects via EDGE, GPRS - so, slow data means slow Internet browsing.

The screen lacks an ambient light sensor for automatic screen brightness adjustment - it's a bit of a challenge to see the display in bright sunlight.

The screen display is low resolution (240 x 320 pixels) with a pixel density screen of 125ppi. This is only noticeable if I am doing a lot of Internet browsing.

The camera is just 2.0 MP and it lacks autofocus and also no flash. These is fine if you use the LG T375 phone camera only as your backup camera.

Although my list of cons seem long, I still give this phone 4 to 4.5 STARS. It's quite a user friendly utilitarian DUAL SIM phone with a very responsive capacitive touch screen - great for calls, texts and managing two phone numbers on one handset.

Hope my review was helpful ... Jeffrey A. (Jeff)

The phone is great for the price however when I received it the charger was European....must of missed that in the description!
The touch is very sensitive so be careful when scrolling for a number early morning or you will end up calling your boss like I did.
I love the concept of the dual sim since I have a business but there is a hold button at the bottom of the touch and my chin keeps hitting it while I talk....have not found a way to disable it. The other con is when you receive a phone call if you do not answer on the first or second ring the touch screen almost shuts down and you cannot answer it....might be just operator error?
overall despite the cons it is a decent phone for the price....have not used the dual sim yet so cannot comment on that.

Got for my husband who has large fingers and just needed a phone he can dial-he doesn't email or text so the phone is good for him. Right size for his hand and works on our carrier. It is 2G so we can't get the internet up and running on our network, but he will never use it anyway. It is easy to use and that's a plus-video, phone, voice record and texting all simple. This is a good first "smartphone" if internet is not your biggest priority.

Lg P999 Optimus G2x with Google Unlocked Deals

This review is from: Lg P999 Optimus G2x with Google Unlocked Android Smartphone with Dual Core, Hd Gaming and 3d Graphics (Wireless Phone Accessory)
SUPER PHONE OF SUPER PHONES! Why only 3 stars? Well, there are plenty of functionality issues. It took me a few hours to read around and get the phone to function as it should have out the box. To break it down, I will list the problem and tell you what I had to do to fix it. 1. Android 2.2 was horrible - Upgraded to 2.3 through LG Mobile Support Tool on LG website 2. Wifi would not connect at all - Downloaded FXR WiFi fix and rescue App, 3. GPS did not find any satellites - Downloaded GpsFix(paid version)App, free version has invasive adds. 4. Since I use Simple Mobile the APN would jump back to T-Mobile settings - Downloaded APN Manager to delete T-Mobile APN.

The first and last ones are on me. Yet, Wifi & GPS is a must for any phone that is supposed to be smart. 5 stars if I didn't have to do anything. 4 would make people think it was a preference issue versus hardware issues. 3 is what I got out of the box, plus had to pay for an app to make it function properly. After all the issues being fixed it is a 4.5 phone.

**BATTERY LIFE IS GARBAGE!** - Downloaded Green Power PREMIUM (Free app is too limited to see results), took me two days to adjust it perfectly. Went from requiring to be plugged in ever 4+ hours to 8+ Hours with normal activity.

I got one of these early in the summer. In its original incarnation, the phone had a lot of software and hardware issues. The software update that came out in early August was a spectacular improvement. It transformed the phone from an annoyance into something that is really a pleasure to use. T-Mobile took this phone off the market for a while over the summer, and I think the time was spent on tightening up quality issues. I got two new G2Xs in mid-August and both are great phones.

This is certainly a fast phone, with lots of Android modding potential.
The price is right, and it works great on Tmobiles network.

Pros:
Speed - it's just fast. Everything.
Stable - no crashes ( in first week)
Wifi - Wifi N is great.
"4g"- aka HSPA+ - I'm seeing 10,000 kbps download. Yeah, it's stupid fast.
Wifi Calling works well.
Sound and call quality is excellent
Size - Nice and thin....
Screen - nice and bright, works in daylight

Cons:
1.Battery Life- With great speeds comes short battery life-- for the same sort of usage my Nokia Astound would last two or three times as long.
2.GPS - The GPS does not seem to work well with the Stock Tmobile Gingerbread ROM, perhaps either CyanogenMod 7 or the Eaglesblood ROMS will fix that issue, or at least let me play with the settings.
3. Screen is a little too bright... needs one more dimmer setting for using at night!

Note: in theory the GPS and Battery settings are improved with various firmware mods. I'll report what I find here.

Update 5/7/2012 -
There was a firmware update, 21y, to GB 2.3.4 -- this fixes all GPS issues(same quality as iphone/Nokia Astound)!!!, improves Battery, but reduces max speeds on modem - a tradeoff which is well worth it.

Verizon LG Revolution No Contract 4G LTE. Deals

I got this phone for christmas and I love it. It is my fist smartphone with data. the screen is huge for great display. when i first got it it was so fast. and after downloading just a few apps it slowed down dramatically. When I try to go to my camera i have to wait and wait for it to get to it. when i want to go into the gallery i will sit and wait for the pics to load and it takes forever. I have to back out of it and go back in. When i search for something on the browser and select the one i want to go to..if i hit the back button it completely exits out of the browser. I have to research all over again. I do like how you can download diff themes for the phone and the sms. it is very "personalize-able". if you stay on the internet or just the phone itself alot the phone will die before the end of the day. I keep a car charger and just automatically plug it up when I get in the car. It has alot of memory and is very easy to use and understand. overall i love it. I just dont like the occasional slowness.

Dear people who are thinking about this phone,

Don't.

This phone randomly restarts in the middle of anything (trying to call someone, looking at your gallery, youtube videos, trying to text, ect.) It lags so hard I want to throw it across the room. Speaking of, the only thing that is good about this phone is that it is built like a nokia and will not die, even though I have tried. I tried to call someone, it lagged for about 20 seconds before restarting, then it took 3 minutes to initialize so I could click on anything, then finally call them. I finished 2 cigarettes before I could get this phone to call. I don't know how I have put up with this phone for this long, but I am willing to shell out a couple hundred for a samsung note II or something. This phone can die in a fire, and I would if it was not good for one thing, sending it in for a $20 discount on a new phone.

save yourself from being admitted to a mental institution, don't get this phone.

If this phone actually WORKED it'd be great. The only thing I don't like about it when it's working is that there is no option to use the power button to end calls.
But it has too many issues. I don't have time to list them all so here are the issues I've had with it JUST TODAY:

This phone lags so much that it's impossible to do much on it. I'm not just talking browsing the internet or running apps...it takes forever to freaking unlock the phone!

It closes out of whatever I'm doing completely randomly.

It will freeze with the screen just solid black & even the power button won't work & I have to take out the battery to fix it. (This really sucks when you're in the middle of leaving an important message & you have to end with "...so, uh...yea...my phone won't let me hang up, sorry. Just ignore the rest of this message." & then wait for the voicemail to disconnect you.) & this happens a TON.

Won't send or receive random texts, but you won't get any notification of the error.

(It's had these problems even when it was brand new & I did a factory reset on the phone just yesterday - nothing helps - I was hoping I just had a glitchy phone & could get a replacement, but after doing some research it seems this is normal.)

LG Optimus L9 P769, 4G (T-Mobile) Deals

By Ryan Sondalle -
This review is from: LG Optimus L9 P769, 4G (T-Mobile) (Wireless Phone)
I'll leave my original review down below but here is my updated change to a 1 star. LG and T-mobile have released Android 4.1.2 jellybean and it has ruined WiFi. By ruined i mean you will not have the option to use WiFi on this phone, it will not function. Neither LG nor T-mobile give a crap about the issue and they refuse to fix the issue, so until they decide to fix it I would not recommend anyone buy this phone. If they do ever fix it my review below explains how it is alright, but without WiFi this is junk! Thanks for nothing T-mobile and LG.

----
I'm going to start with the negatives because people have an extreme lack of knowledge regarding the negative areas and how they reflect to the phone.
Cons:
1. Camera, it's pretty crappy quality compared to what's out there today, but people forget that this phone is $200 or less with no contract. The phones they compare it to cost $200 with a contract ($600+ phones without a contract). You can't compare a Hyundai to a BMW folks.
2. No apps to SD card. This is annoying, but this is googles fault not LG's. When they developed android 4.0 they stopped letting you move apps. Also this is a budget phone. And 2gb is enough for your basic apps. if you need music you can load that directly to your SD card using your pc, which is really the point behind the SD card.
3. Random features it doesn't offer. This is a Miscelleaneous category basically to address the fact that people constantly come up with random stuff this phone can't do. this is a $200 phone, not a $600 phone. don't get mad that the $600 phone has capabilities that this doesnt. You get what you pay for.

Pros:
1.Battery life. My phone usually runs over 1 full day before charging (with me stopping to charge around 20% of the battery left). My nexus s died after 5 hours of mediocre use.
2.Speed.the phone just processes quickly. on basically everything.
3.Price. This phone is $200 without a contract. My old phone was $150 with a 2 year contract i then paid $8 a month for insurance, and when it broke after a year and a half of use (completely on its own, it wouldnt turn on) i had to pay $100 claim form. altogether i paid $394 for a phone that's a piece of junk and could never do what this phone does. The only thing the other phone could do better was take pictures.

Hands down this is the best phone in its price class. It can keep up to the expensive phones, but obviously is not quite as good. But when you say you can get a $200 phone with no contract that does as good of a job as a $600 phone, that's impressive. The savings in the long run alone make this phone worthwhile.

SUMMARY. I have owned the phone since 3/1/13 and it has exceeded my expectations. I paid for 200$ for it and I am not going to expect this phone to have features that 700$ phones have. This is the only phone that is both "Brand Name" and has 4.0 OS.

Link to Manufacturer site. [...]
PROS
-Light, Thin, Large dialing buttons, camera flash (could be life saver)

CONS

-Camera is okay at best. Once you learn to click and tell the camera what you want to focus on, the pictures improve.
-Physical (click click) HOME button. It is matter of time before dirt / water gets in there.
-LG and Tmobile have loaded it with crap / bloat ware. You can remove some things but not all. The phone is still not slow.

DETAILED FEEDBACK BY DATE. I would like to come back and update this as I learn more but no promises.

3/1/13 - I purchased this phone directly from tmobile's prepaid phone website for 200$. It meets the intial expecations. Large dialing buttons. 4.0 is stable OS and there is hardly anything missing as compared to 4.1.

UPDATE 4/15/13 .. All the initial feedback is still true.
Camera results are much improved once I learnt to be a little patient with it. The voice shutter function is not consistent. This could be a user error.

Few things I learnt.
Press power and home button together to do a quick screen capture.

This review is from: LG Optimus L9 P769, 4G (T-Mobile) (Wireless Phone)
I will briefly state the negatives and positives of this phone. In fact there are more positives then negatives.
Camera quality is so so. I rarely use it for taking professional photos.
Camcorder is ok. Don't expect clear image in low-light environment. Even the small built-in flash doesn't help. Outside in bright light is a different story. Still not the same quality of a dedicated camcorder.
Internet is fast. Battery...hmm... I think for a screen this size it is adequate.
The proximity sensor is something that I missed on my 2 other smartphones. Even the Galaxy S didn't have it which was very annoying when making phone calls.
Did I mention the customizable quick menu bar? This is nice in the new Cream Sandwich.
The negatives are:
A whole load of bloatware from both LG and T-mobile. Some can be deleted, with rest not so lucky.
The HOME button gets very frustrating when I have to press it 2 or 3 times to wake the phone. I don't know if it's a defect or a random glitch. But enough to cause a headache. The thing is, it doesn't always do it. Just random.
One other downside is the fact that to answer a call one must perform a sliding movement on the screen instead of just tapping the ANSWER button/icon. With time this can get nerve-breaking. On the Galaxy S and many other phones a simple tap on that icon connects the call.
And probably the greatest disadvantage is the sound. I am not saying it's not loud enough, in this regards it's average =ok. But when listening to music the sound feels empty. It does not have the lows and the bass is mediocre.
I put my Sony Ericsson next to the LG L9 and started playing various same songs at the same time to hear the difference. The Ericsson had a full deeper and more pleasant sound and properly balanced. The LG was a disappointment. And I really count on a phone's sound for music as I use the music player more than any other application.
Truly LG hit the hard bottom with its sound quality. Sony and Samsung surpass it in this field.
But going back to my statement. The advantages outweigh the disadvantages so I still love the phone.

LG P970 Optimus Unlocked Android... Deals

By George E. Jelly "GeorgeJ" (Heidelberg, GER) -
This review is from: LG P970 Optimus Unlocked Android Smartphone with 5MP Camera, Wi-Fi, 4-inch Touch screen - No Warranty - Black (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I just bought this phone (in Germany) a few days ago and would have paid less for it on Amazon. It has a gorgeous, very bright and high resolution display - so bright that I have kept it set at minimum brightness. I tested it outside today, under a partially cloudy sky - and I could clearly read the display when it was set to maximum brightness!! LG has done a surprisingly good job of customizing Android (2.2.2 for now) on it. Info on the internet indicates that LG will release Gingerbread for it in SEP 11 for those concerned about 2.3 and higher. It has lots of extra widgets and apps - like battery and cellular data usage - that you would normally have to get from the market. Excellent battery life despite the bright display - it's kinda early to tell but I've gotten two full days with normal usage. Cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity are also great - and no sound problems or dropped calls. I have two concerns with it though. First, the main part of the phone is very well built but the battery cover is too thin in my opinion - the phone itself doesn't creak or bend but it sure seems as if the back/battery cover won't take much abuse. That being said, the phone does feel solid with the battery cover locked in place. And, related to this, the battery cover is also tricky to remove so this isn't a phone that you would want to frequently swap the chips in. Last but not least, the included Euro charger is huge and it looks pure Stone Age - shame on you LG!! ***** Edited to add a couple more points: This is a small thing but a big plus in my opinion: LG modified Android to allow screen captures on the P970! All you have to do - kind of like on the iPhone - is press home and power at the same time and the screen is captured. Also - after two full days of moderate usage (easy to track battery usage in Android) it was at 42% battery remaining.

I've been using my LG 970 Optimus Black for two months now and I simply love it! I bought it unlocked for use in Uruguay, South America. It's light and slim, very comfortable to handle and use, with an awsome display, very clear and bright, even under direct sunlight, and also very responsive to the touch. Very fast on the Internet and mail. It also takes very good pictures with or without flash, with lots of settings to personalize your shots as you wish. I've downloaded many cool applications from the Android Market, most of them free or with very low cost. The only thing I'm not completely satisfied with is battery life. With a moderate use of Internet, WiFi and 3G on only during the day, it lasts less than a day. However, after installing Juicedefender Ultimate from the Android Market, it now lasts aproximately a day and a half ... not that bad. But its excellent performance and sound quality greatly compensate for this drawback.

January 9, 2012.
After 5 months of use, I've kind of fallen out of love with it... well, not completely, but it's not my prince charming any more... I've had a serious event of denial to reboot after running out of battery, and had to take it to the service where the only option was to make a hard reset, thus losing all my personal settings and downloads, luckily not my pictures which were stored in the mini card! I read a blog on this rebooting issue, and apparently it happens frequently with this model, also when you try to block the display with the on/off button. I'm very attentive now to the battery level and have downloaded a blocking-display application, so that I don't have to use the power button to do it. This has worked so far.

March 5, 2012.
2 months having past since my last review, I must say that I've run out of battery three or four times, and also had to turn off the phone because it had frozen, and I had no problem whatsoever upon turning it back on. I made sure each time to wait some minutes before turning it on after turning it off or starting the battery charge, perhaps that made the difference. In summary: I'm very happy with my LG 970 again!

I received this smartphone in excellent condition. I extensively reviewed it in various serious GSM smartphone review sites. It needed to have 850MHz band, Wifi and GPS. So, this one had all of it and more. I received it in a retail box, not a brown carton like some others, which was fine. Once opened, surprise! The only mini manual is in Chinese language. I had to go to the LG website from Australia to get the manual in English! I charge it and waited. Put it in my mini-sim card and started it. Surprise! It started in Chinese! No English counter part, all Chinese scriptures! I had to figure through some trials and errors to put in in English! So the Australian manual helped quite a bit. Finally I got it started, recognized my cell service provider, OK, so far so good. When one reviews the apps one finds besides what was expected, another surprise! Lots of Chinese apps which meant nothing to me, except most were for gambling online! I had to go on Settings and erase all of that junk from my phone. It is now clean, with my data service, and rid of all those junk gambling apps, I hope. I easily loaded apps from Google Play, such as SkyMaps (Maps was included), and other apps I need for my work and hobbies. So, it's OK. Here the same phone with contract goes for $300, so I am satisfied with my LG. I have an older LG, the GT540, which still works fine. For the price and the capacity it is a fine purchase, but please, the seller must include an English manual-user guide and set the phone in English or multilanguage, customers will appreciate that.

General:
Comes shipped for another language but that's to be expected as the P705 was intended for the Chinese market, works 100% on T-Mobile so far - Look to your carrier's website to see how to program your phone to connect to their data/MMS services, else it will not work, you must tell it where to connect - It is not a fault in the phone.

Design:
The phone is flat and square which is good because it slips in your pocket comfortably, the back isn't as 'grippy' as it seems it might be - A case or replacement back may solve this (I am used to the back of my Google Nexus 7 with it's less-than-plastic backing). The buttons don't sit out too far; just enough to identify and press when needed. The battery back is a little difficult to remove without a tool or fingernails as it does not slide off, rather than snapping on. This becomes a problem when needing to access the microSD slot which for some people may be often (Stock Android connects to your computer via MTP or Media Transfer Protocol which means it doesn't allow the same ease of use as say a thumb drive and in the case of Windows 7 makes you confirm every file you copy over that it might not work on your device. There is also software you may download from LG for the device to transfer and backup data.)

Specs, performance:
The battery is as robust as to be expected, using apps, texting and such, I find I really only need to charge every other day, but this is no problem since I rarely find myself lost in the wilderness for a week.Actual battery life varies per user and the things running and connecting of course. A user smart with their battery would see days on standby, surprisingly as much as I personally turn on to mess around with the screen on, (Brightness at 28%, still very clear. The screen can get VERY bright.) the screen is the fourth on the list of things that pull power to my battery. The top items on my phone: Cell Standby, Android System, Phone Idle and finally the Screen. In the other devices I have used (Primarily tablets), the screen is usually the top pulling item, by grand leaps. This isn't the case with the P705, the screen is rather easy on battery life.

Power-wise, as noted, my other Android device is a Nexus 7 so I feel it's apples and oranges, however the P705 holds its own against it, very few lags and no hang-ups, though I mind to restart my phone every couple days to clear out and let it start fresh. Installing Nova Launcher on as my default home, it performs with minimal lag, though I notice a slight stutter on screen transitions (Primarily the "Swinging door" transition.) The default launcher performed well, however, an LG customized ICS launcher. Nothing too spectacular, hence the upgrade to Nova Launcher. Runs most apps without issue, have not tested many games outside of Osmos, which proved to make the game stutter - It's definitely not a gaming phone.

Depending on your carrier, connection will always vary, however the P705 gets rather good connection that I have found so far, on average, I get better reception than I did with most of my previous phones. WiFi isn't terrible, i don't lose signal nor find that I get better performance than my Nexus, either.

The speaker isn't terribly loud but it would work well enough to carry out a speakerphone conversation as well as you won't miss a call due to not hearing it

Many users have said that this phone does not work with Mobile data networks(3G and 2G). It's absolutely true.
I ordered the phone and ignored other comments that this phone does not connect 3G and 2G networks and ended up losing
$10 to ship the phone back. I tried the sim cards from AT&T and T-Mobile and none of them worked. Only voice worked. I do believe that the sellers are well aware of this problem but they will sell you the phone hopping that people will accept the phone as is.
Conclusion, this is what you get when you try to go cheap. You will end up wasting your time and in my case losing money.
Spend an additional $100 or $150 and you will be happy. For example, the Nexus 4 costs $300 or the iPhone 4 costs $450 which comes unlocked. You can buy the iPhone 4 unlocked directly from the Apple web site.

LG Optimus L7 P705 Unlocked International.. Deals

I've had about 2 months to play around with the phone and am very pleased so far. I owned a HTC Inspire for 2 years before purchasing this so my battery and performance expectations were already pretty achievable. The phone arrived fairly quickly and came with a male micro-usb to male usb cable, an AC to female usb wall adapter and all the manuals. After the first initial charge I plugged in my SIM card and turned it on. I'm currently on a Family Mobile cell plan and works just fine after a few setting changes. Search for Family Mobile APN settings and it will show you how to configure your phone.

Hardware:
The phone is very sleek. I bought the white model and get compliments on how nice the phone looks frequently. At first I was surprised at how light it was but now the weight seems very natural. Some people dislike lighter phones because they don't feel as sturdy but it personally doesn't bother me. The back cover has a bit of a flimsy feel to it, but unless you're swapping out SIMs, MicroSDs or batteries frequently you won't notice it that much. The physical home button, the volume rocker and the tactile back and menu buttons are all sturdy and responsive. The screen lock button on the top right of the phone seems too recessed into the phone for my liking, but i'm sure it helps with not accidentally unlocking your screen. The AUX jack on the top left of the phone gives a snug fit and makes good contact with the male end of the cord.

Software:
To start out, I absolutely love Ice Cream Sandwich. It combines aesthetically pleasing menus with tons of features. One of my main concerns with buying this phone was everyone's complaint about the single core processor. My old HTC Inspire was also a single core processor phone so maybe that's why I don't notice it that much but i've yet to experience any sort of significant lag. This being said, I also compulsively hold the home button down and close any applications i'm done using so it doesn't eat up my process allowance and battery. I'm sure if you were to leave tons of apps running in the background or if you game on your phone it might under perform for you. Video watching on this phone is very enjoyable as well. Whether it be internet streaming or a local file the picture quality is quite impressive. Playing a Blueray quality video file on the phones stock video app plays without lag or buffering which is a huge plus. Screen brightness ranges from very bright to almost off but lacks an auto brightness feature. Rooting was fairly easy once I found the right software. I could not SuperOneClick it but the LG flash tool worked fine. The camera takes decent quality pictures, but the flash is weak. This is a main weak point for me because I like to use my phone as a flashlight, but now I can't.

Battery Life:
This was the main feature that drew me to the phone. The battery life on the HTC Inspire is HORRIBLE so I wanted to make sure not to make the same mistake twice. Average life seems to be around 12 hours with medium use for me. Juicedefender helps quite a bit, but I also have screen brightness set to 60% (which is pretty bright). I mostly only text, browse the web, and make the occasional phone call so I think 12 hours is pretty reasonable. On the HTC Inspire I would have got 3 hours, so no complaints here. The one thing i've found to REALLY kill the battery is streaming movies and music on your mobile network. When you're connected to Wifi it's not as noticeable, which I almost always am, but for some reason mobile internet drains it. Light to no use and I think the battery would last well over 24 if not 36 hours.

Overall I'm still in love with this phone, especially for the price. For someone who is not on a contract (which I am not) ICS + good battery life + factory unlock + sleek design + under $200 = an awesome phone.

I've had this phone for a little over a month now. The phone cannot find the 4g that comes with my network service (T-Mobile) and since I bought the phone unlocked, I tried to put another sim card with a different company (AT&T) it still couldn't find the 4g or 3g. Also, the phone does not automatically remember the WiFi setting and if the screen goes to sleep, I will either have to wait for it to find the WiFi again or start it back up manually/ When trying to download more than one app or play a game/Facebook while trying to download something in the background, the phone runs slower. When trying to use the zoom on the camera, the photos don't come out very well. On the upside, the sleek look & light weight make for easy carrying and the screen is HUGE (but watching attempting to watch Netflix with the app is a joke!) I love the shortcuts and all other features on the phone & for the price (~$220 + unlocked/no warranty) it's a good bang for your buck, but in today's high-end Smart Phone world, I wouldn't recommend purchasing this phone.
